The right top is never only about colour or neckline. Its fabric shapes the way it sits on the body, moves through the day, and becomes part of your personal style.
At CotiQ, many of our women’s tops are made using rib knits—especially 2×2 rib and 1×1 rib. These fabrics are loved for their soft texture, natural-looking stretch, and ability to create a close yet comfortable fit.
This guide is here to make fabric choice feel simple. You do not need to know textile jargon to know what feels right on you.

Women’s Tops Fabric Guide

Why fabric matters in women’s tops
A top can look simple, but its fabric makes a visible difference. Rib knits create vertical texture, which can give an outfit more depth than a plain smooth fabric. They also allow a fitted shape to feel more flexible and natural.
For regular-fit tops, fabric helps decide whether the final look feels:
Clean and close to the body
Soft and relaxed
Light enough for warm days
Structured enough to hold its shape
Easy to layer under shirts, jackets, or overshirts
The fibre blend matters too. A cotton-rich rib may feel soft and breathable; a polyester blend may have a smoother feel; and a fabric with elastane may offer more stretch and recovery. These are general qualities, not fixed rules—the final feel depends on the blend, knit, weight, and finishing of each fabric.
